About Angelo Owens

Angelo Owens Wines was founded by college sweethearts Jeff Owens and Valerie Angelo, whose shared journey with wine began while studying at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. What started as curiosity quickly became a calling, shaped by years of study, travel to nearby wine regions, and an early commitment to understanding vineyard expression and vintage variation. From the beginning, their vision was clear: Napa Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a legacy built with intention.

After two decades of hands-on experience, sacrifice, and refinement, Jeff and Val brought that vision to life in 2021. Rooted in family, perseverance, and a deep respect for terroir, Angelo Owens Wines reflects not only Jeff’s craftsmanship as a winemaker, but the shared values that define the Angelo and Owens families: tradition, strength, and integrity.

This is Napa without excess. Focused. Deliberate. Enduring.

Winemaker - Jeff Owens

Jeff Owens brings nearly two decades of Napa Valley experience to Angelo Owens Wines. He first gained international recognition as the founding Head Winemaker at Odette Estate in the Stags Leap District, becoming the first winemaker to receive a 100-point score on an inaugural vintage. Over the past decade, his work has continued to earn consistent 98–100 point acclaim. Trained under renowned winemaker Tony Biagi at PlumpJack and Cade Estates, Jeff’s approach is grounded in precision, vineyard development, and long-term thinking. Today, his focus remains on crafting wines from the ground up, guided by relationships, restraint, and an uncompromising commitment to quality.
